Lots of guitars are made overseas and in Mexico too. I have a Korean acoustic which is great and my Epiphone 335 is Korean which is also a great guitar. I used to own a Mexican strat.
Is that what the ads do? Monitor subjects? Let's not talk about Viagra too much or eharmony.
Let me try this. Gibson!! Gibson!! Gibson!!

I know there are a l ot of guitars made overseas, and most of the good ones are made from american parts, such as the mexican strats. The quality has gotten a lot better over the years on the overseas stuff, it used to be junk.
Just seems we make less and less here these days, and I still think american guitars are the best.

Most are unless they're Gibsons. Gibson is hit and miss. I still want one.

I haven't really heard the Crate's lately either. A lot of the newer stuff I've seen coming from have been the smaller practice amps and PAs. Are there any other Crate dealers around here aside from Music Quest?

Guitar Center, I do believe. Apple has a few but I think they're the tube amps.

For one they are some of the best guitars made in my opinion and all guitars by ANY manufacturer are different. Just the fact that they are made from wood makes them unique. I know I played a lot of strates before I bought mine.

Gibson is getting a huge rep for their lack of quality control. I think for an American guitar their consistency is worse than others. You can find an excellent LP right next to a shitty one. Sorry, I gotta single out Gibson for this because they're more expensive and you should be getting a better quality instrument for the money you're spending.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of the bad rap, I agree, who wants an expensive shitty guitar.

I would still love a real Gibson 335. For now, and probably the remainder of my life, I'll have to settle for my Epiphone 335 copy. You hear it during the bridge of "smoke me" along with the telecaster. The telecaster is the rest of the guitar track.

That's funny, that is the one guitar I would love to have. But man, KA-CHING. I don't think I will ever get one either. I would like to get a cheaper semi-hollow body at some point. It sounds good on smoke me, so who needs a real one.

I spent some time away from playing my 335. I went into guitar center one day and they had the "cheaper" 335 on the wall. It's a Gibson with the same pickups and stuff but a thinner finish. It was $1500. I plugged it into a DRRI, the same amp I have at home, and thought "wow...i want a real 335". When I got home I plugged in my copy and nailed the same tone. I was like "oh yeah. This guitar is good". I still want one though.
I used the 335 for the scratch tracks and we kept the bridge. The 335 is thicker than the telecaster when I just want to run clean. I don't use distortion or effects on the scratch track. I just want to be able to have the guys follow me, not wow them.

I think I know the one your are talking about. It's $1500 and they call it the working man's 335 or some shit. Yeah, well get me a job where the working man works!
That's what cool about having the different body styles. Different tone and textures. I know what you mean about the scratch tracks. We used to do the same thing. You didn't intend to keep it, but sometimes, in some parts, it works. Which is just an added plus.

The guys actually wanted to keep the scratch track and redo the vocals. But I wasn't thrilled with the tone. I wanted it beefier. It's still not where I want it. I'm hoping the v-amp can help us thicken it up.
