Eastwood Guitars has offered to trade me a Stormbird for my Strat. I'm not sure. I think the strats value is probably no more than $400 used and the Eastwood is $400 new. The strat would probably hold it's value better over the years. I just never play the strat. I like holding it and feeling as it's a cool guitar more than I like gigging with it. It even smells good. I just can't get into this guitar. I might trade, keep the case (and the gig bag that came with it) and sell those separately on ebay. I think somewhere down the road I'd get another strat. Probably one of those 60's Classics. I haven't made up my mind yet.

From the owner of the company. I inquired and he's all about it. I'm trying to get more info.

Chris hates the way the guitar looks and likes the strat better. I'm really influenced by the guys in the band. I think I'll keep the strat. I'll mod it up. I want to put some custom shop single coils in it, sell the humbucker in it (Ronnie?), put some vintage tuners on it and aged plastic parts for the pickup covers and the knobs (heh, heh...knobs).

good plan. Chris has been around you for a while, I'm sure he wouldn't stear ya wrong. Have you ever tried adjusting the humbucker poles to get your own sound from them? I haven't done it myself but one of my buddies has tried it and said he got good results from it

I've done that. I had Bob Smith do it for me. It's not the right humbucker for that guitar or a good match for the stock single coils in front of it. I like the single coil sound on a strat. I like the humbucker sound on my Epiphone. And of course I love the single coil sound on my telecaster. It just rips.

I've been a little timid on giving a try, but now that I have the Schecter I may try it on my Hamer. The only thing is, I really like the Hamer, I'd hate to screw it up. I can definately see myself playing both on a regular basis
