Gates is good but you better hope that Rivers is up to the rask. I see a big step back this year in the Chargers passing game.
I was a big fan of Bress the pat two years. I think Gates more than anyone else will miss him.
Still Gates is the best TE in football.

Overall I'm happy with my team.
If Palmer turns out to be healthy, I've got to good backs (Rudi and Caddilac) to go with him. The receivers aren't bad in Plexico, Stallworth and throw in Crumpler as well. I think at this point I may just stay where I'm at.

I will have Bulger as my qb with Billy V as the backup.
RBs are Edge James and Westbrook. No real depth as in if one of these guys goes down, I don't know if I will have a back to get the carries.
My WRs are Chambers, Randal El, Glenn, Bennett and Lee Evans.
Whitten is my TE and Washington my D.
Not too shabby, but I want to keep building.

I think this is going to be a competitive league. I've never played in one with this many teams. Last year I was in a ten team league so there was always someone on the wires. And of course, people develop through the year and you'd find those guys available and use 'em for a game or two. It'll work the same way with this league, but it'll be tougher since the talent is spread through so many teams. I think it's gonna be bad ass. I think this might be tougher too as a lot of you guys are really into this.

I think depth will be key. I also think there will be tons of trades. I have already made two.
I gave up Brunell, Frank Gore, Jake Plummer, an Atlanta #2 receiver, Cincy's D
I got Bulger, Volek, Lee Evans, Washington's D, Drew Bennett.
I think I improved my #1 QB (and possibly my #2) and I got a lot of WR depth so I can mix and match according to their opponent. I do need a little more RB depth though.

Volek will not play more than half the year. Young and his massive signing bonus will be playing by week 5. The Bulger has never made it through a 16 week season. He only played 8 last year. Even with only one WR Brunell threw for 23 TDs last year. Now with Moss, Cooley, Randle El and Loyd the Skins are stacked. Brunell will deliver. BTW Thanks for the RB!!!!!!!!

Look at Volek in 2004 www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/188108Look at Bennett in 2004 www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/245091Now they are together again. Bennett is better off as the #2 option (like he was in 2004 and is now). I actually think Young will sit a lot longer that people think. He is still very, very raw. Brunnell can be very good, but when he has an off week, he can cripple your offense. www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1032/gamelogs/2005When healthy, Bulger seems to put points on the board www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187501/gamelogs/2005www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187501/gamelogs/2004I did hesitate to give up Gore, but the history of San Fran running backs has not been that great. www.nfl.com/teams/stats/SF/2005/regularwww.nfl.com/teams/stats/SF/2004/regularwww.nfl.com/teams/stats/SF/2003/regularwww.nfl.com/teams/stats/SF/2002/regularwww.nfl.com/teams/stats/SF/2001/regular

I know.
But I think Pittsburgh's first team did not score a TD in the entire preseason last year and they won the Super Bowl.
I really try to ignore the preseason as much as possible, but it's hard to do sometimes.

It does make drafting in a regular league a rough proposition.
I mean based upon preason, LJ isn't looking to good. But then again is he playing that hard or does KC have some blocking issues?

In the words of Grandpa Simpson...
"A little bit from column A and a little bit from column B."
A football player is still a player. I mean LJ is still LJ. I think he did lose some blocking though and Green's arm isn't getting any younger to stretch the defense with.

I think Trent Green will have a good year...not a Peyton Manning year, but a good year. If LJ has a good year, so will Green. I wouldn't mind having either one of those players.

I think he did lose some blocking though and Green's arm isn't getting any younger to stretch the defense with. LJ lost his two tackles. One of which was Willie Roaf, who was one of the best tackles in football. They replaced him with Kyle Turley. Trent Green is going to get killed this year. Plus you have to factor in that they lost their offensive Cordinator and Herm "Boring" Edwards is now the coach. LJ will still put up some numbers but Herm is going to grind him into the ground.
