Cartright was in there to return kicks? That's just plain stupid, and a waste of a roster spot. You've got Randle El, and you mean to tell me that if something happened to him, there's noone else that could handle the job for the remainder of the game? Dumb. Slightly less dumb is the Giants keeping Moss inactive for Michael Jennings who's only a threat on ST but he never see's the field because for whatever reason Coughlin is happy with Chad Morton and his fair catching inside the 10 yard line

I agree 100% You can use Randle El or James Trash. Betts handles most of the kick offs anyway.
Trash is a great special teamer and plays on all the units and could handle the return duties with Betts making room for Duckett.
Duckett is a beast. I wish we had him on the field last Monday.
Another thought I had was that the Redskins where trying to feature Betts in order to trade him. I have seen that rumor floating around since we aquired Duckett.

damn. Shouldn't have taken out Williamson. That would have been the difference between a tie and winning

Yeah I pulled out a win in junk time.
I take back everything positive I have said about the Redskins this season. We looked horrible on both sides of the ball.
We are a totally different team, by different I mean we suck, with Portis on offense and Shawn Springs on D.
We got no pressure and gave up soo many sacks I lost count.
Brunell looks bad. Dobre Shunkas you want to give me Bulger back? Even with his struggles so far this season it would an improvement.

Everything you just said, is exactly what I was saying about the Giants in the first half of their game.
I take back what I said about Cartright. He looked good returning kicks. You guys broke Owens' finger... out 2-4 weeks. I guess I can think the Skins for that.
Did Brunnel finish with a passer rating above 50? The offense looked effin horrible. You think there's any chance that Gibbs will resume play calling duties from Saunders? Also, I saw you picked up Campbell. You think there may be a QB controversary now?

I do not think that it is Saunders fault.
I put is squarely on Brunell's shoulders. I was really hoping we would get one more year out of him. If he played well we had a shot at something big.
Brunell is sooooo scared to get hit. He is so jumpy in the pocket you would think he was Patrick Ramsey. Brunell is running away from perceived pressure and dumping the ball off to the running back so he doesn't get hit. He leaves the pocket and doesn't have the legs for it anymore and he is getting caught.
He needs to step up into the pocket and deliver the ball not run outside the pocket. There are times that you need to just stand in the pocket and take the hit to deliver the ball. He had open guys he missed and other time he just didn't seem to believe that he could deliver the ball down field.
I think that Brunell will start this week but that we will be out of the race very soon. As soon as we are Campbell will be in. WE need to see what he can do.
We also need Portis back in. It will not matter if we have in in week 10 if we are 2 and 8.

I do agree that Campbell should be getting some experience this year if he is going to be the future of the Redskins. I don't think you can put all the blame on Brunell thoiugh. If his offensive line can't protect him in a three step drop, you can bet he's going to be a little jumpy when a 5 step drop is called. I still think it's early. The Skins still have time to come around. That's one division loss though, they're going to have to cowboy up (pardon the phrase) on the rest of the games vs the East. It may just come down to a tie breaker at the end of the year

I agree to an extent but as I watch the game many of the sacks occurred when Burnell double pumped or pulled the ball back down. He never steps up into the pocket. He always tries to escape to the side.
He continues to take his eye off the down field players and looks at the rush and dumps it to the check down.
If you watched the game in the 4th quarter Al Michaels kept asking is it the scheme or is it the players. Madden did not want to answer. He kept avoiding the question.
Finally Michaels said well look at the coaches and the experience they have. Look at their success they have had over a long period of time. Madden finally said its the players. Michaels says any one position? Madden says meekly yes "Its the QB."
I think Madden's banter is annoying but he still knows football. I have not heard anyone say that Brunell looks good. I have not heard one positive statement by anyone outside the organization about Brunell.
He is done, stick a fork in him. I would rather see a young guy getting experience while making the same mistakes and losing games then watch an old man on his last legs that will not be with us beyond this year.

Also, I saw you picked up Campbell. You think there may be a QB controversary now? He finished ar 39 point something. Here is that quote from Madden Sunday night. "The Redskins have the weapons but the quarterback has to get the ball to those weapons. Do they have the right players to run the offense? I think therein lays the problem," said Madden as the Redskins headed to a 27-10 loss to the Cowboys. Later, he added: "Is this a pretty good offense that will get better or is it a bad offense that may never be able to play with these players? My best guess is that they don't have the right players. What I'm talking about is the quarterback position."

wow. That's definately not what you wanna hear.
Johnson's got a bye this week so I picked up Cartright and I'm going to start him. I'm hoping the Skins defense can force Houston to punt enough that it's a smart move. I've got noone else right now

Yeah outside of Redskins park no one believes that Brunell has anything left in the tank.
The sad thing is that Brunell wil do enough against the crappy Texans to keep his job. The rest of the year will be an up and down roller coaster.
Rock should do alright for you. With a league this big there are very few backups at all positions.

Wasn't it the first game when Brunell took that head first slide when no one was within five - ten yards of him? But then again maybe he had Trent Gree on the mind.
