I'm more looking to dump guys I am not crazy about (Brunell) for guys who I like (Evans, Bennett). I probably should have just eliminated them from my list, but I know they have value to someone somewhere. Who are you looking to dump?

my dilemma right now is should I pull Jerry Porter in favor of the Troy Williams. I haven't seen anything official yet as to Jerry Porter even starting, though he did practice with the starters this week. I guess I've got to wait until tomorrow to figure it out

oh, did you guys hear that the Lions defensive line coach has been arrested twice in the last two weeks? The second offense is drunk driving... the first offense? Driving without clothes...

I don't know if any of you read this guy, but I think he is one of the most entertaining sports/pop culture writers out there. sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060906His theory on Brooks is based a lot on sitting next to him for a few hours at an awards show. That column is in his archives someplace.

Oh I agree. Brooks is an idiot. He also has zero desire to win. He was the same way when he was at UVA.
The sad thing is the man is a gifted athlete. He could be better than McNabb but he does not care at all. He got his big pay day and he is set so he has been coasting since.
That said the Raiders will be terrible this year on defense. They will be throwing the ball a lot. That is why I thik Brooks will put up good numbers. He will not win many games or go to the pro bowl but he will throw touchdowns.
Moss will demand a lot of balls this year and Shell will go back to Raider football which is vertical passing game.

It's time...
Time to start that is.
Let's get that ball kicked up in the air and let the hitting begin.
Let's just see if my vaunted team can hold up.

Well the first game exposed a major flaw in the scoring system. First a kicker returner is now the most valuable offensive player you can have. How does a guy who catches 67 passing yards and 157 return yards outscore a running back who ran for 115 yards and caught 13, by 9 points? That just does not seem right. A RB who ran for over 100 yards affected the game more than a return man did. That is not even the worst flaw. With this system your Defense will be your most valuable player. They will score more points then Shawn Alexander or Payton Manning. The irony is that it will not be the best Def that score the most points. It will be the ones that return kicks well. Last night a team that had 2 interceptions, one for a TD, gave up fewer points on the field, had the same amount of sacks scored less points than the losing defense who did not score a TD and had only one turnover. Steelers D scored 30 point while Miami's D scored 35? ? Makes that early pick of the Chicago D a bad move. Well my rant is over back to the drawing board. I have to go pick up kick returns. I would not go crazy is Clay adjusted the returners. You are right, no way did Miami's D outplay Pittsburgh's.
But, their special teams did.
35 point though is a lot.
A RB would need to run for 150 yards and score three times to approach that number.
So Clay, you have my vote to adjust returners after this week. And I already have El and the Washington D.

Yeah I am not really going to make any moves. There aren't really any players left anyway. I just think that system is flawed. A kicker returner should have to get at least 25 yards to score a point. The same should be true of a Def. The Miami D scored 30 points off of return yards. I could see 6 points but 30 is absurd!!!!!! Pitts scored 16 points off of kick returns. Thats more points then they scored off of the 2 picks and the TD? If you went with 25 yards per return point the scores would have been Miami D 11 and the Pittsburg D 17. That seems much more in line.

I'll see what I can tweak. But calm down for the moment. It's only the first game and you'll do some catching up Sunday and Monday. I agree, a defense that allows 28 points shouldn't get 35 fantasy points.

I agree, a defense that allows 28 points shouldn't get 35 fantasy points. I am not worried about catching up. ;D I can adjust my roster to meet the system and still win games but I think that the system is skewed in a way that rewards weakness and that the best fantasy players in football will not score the most points. I will say I knew about the flaw ahead of time. That is why I wanted to grab Washington's D.
You have Cincy's D and they will be returning a lot of kicks with all the points their D will allow. It will all even out.
That all said, I think we should be rewarded for having the return guy, not the D. That white kid that was killing us last night should be the player rewarded for the yardage. Not his overall D.
